This item was handmade from a recycled Boho velveteen jacket. Much like it’s Velveteen Rabbit predecessor, this little jacket was loved and left forlorn. I, however, saw its potential immediately. I tried to keep the cute features of the suit when cutting out this bag. The pattern doesn’t match in the back of the bag….that is because it didn’t match on the jacket itself. I utilized the jacket as the jacket condition provided. It looks kind of interesting as a patch work effect.
The pattern is by Emma Brennan of Charlie’s Aunt. Once I saw her patterns, I knew that they would be perfect vehicles for my upcycling obsession. I love old suiting. These patterns are the perfect mode of conveyance. I did modify the pattern slightly by adding the wristlet feature. It can also be tucked inside the bag itself and used as a clutch as the pattern suggests.
I guess with the bow…one could call this….”Bow-ho” .:)
This bag’s particular back story will be included on a card within so that the person for whom you are gift giving (Even if it is for yourself) will be able to enjoy this little skirt suit’s journey.
It has a bow feature and asparagus green lucite buttons.
