WHAT IT IS: Retro Inspired Brown Gray and Toffee Pin Stripe Small Clutch with Doplhin Gray Velvet Bow; Magnetic Button Closure
THE BACK STORY: This was created from an upcycled velvet evening jacket from the 1990s. Once abandoned in the back of a thrift shop for having a ripped pocket, this lovely little number got a new lease on life as a savvy clutch bag. Perfect for an evening getaway as a precocious femme fatale.
THE PARTICULARS: Bag is roughly 10.5 inches long and about 6 inches high. Roughly 1 inch deep.
The pattern was drafted by Emma Brennan for her label called “Charlie’s Aunt”. Once I saw her patterns, I knew that they would be perfect vehicles for my upcycling obsession. I love old suiting. These patterns are the perfect mode of conveyance.
I washed the wool by hand and took great care to preserve as much of the original tailoring as was possible. I like to try and put a lot of details into the bags.
This bag’s particular back story will be included on a card within so that the person for whom you are gift giving (Even if it is for yourself) will be able to enjoy this waistcoat’s journey.
