THE BACK STORY: My mother is one of my biggest sources of inspiration. She’d always taught me the art of recycling and upcycling. She will find postcards, comics, sketches, thrift store trims and laces, high end paper, cool broken jewelry and vintage jewelry, art calendars and wrapping paper that is clever and classy and send it my way to upcycle it.
I have an abundance of mixed media to work with as a result.
This particular piece was created from an old calendar, vintage paper and a glass aurora borealis patina bead that I rescued from an old brooch.
